On 1 June, OG Clean Fuels marks its 15th anniversary as a leading multinational in clean fuels. What began in 2008 at the garden table of founder Marcel Borger as OrangeGas, and led to the opening of the first station in 2009, has grown into a dynamic company operating in four European countries. With nearly 300 locations and a turnover of 200 million euros, OG Clean Fuels (OG) is the market leader in clean fuels.

From the start, OG has aimed to make a difference in European clean mobility, beginning with Bio CNG stations in the Netherlands. After successfully building a network of over 80 stations in the Netherlands, OG expanded to Germany in 2017, where over 120 stations are now in operation. In 2019, OG entered Sweden by acquiring five stations near Helsingborg. In 2022, the acquisition of Fordonsgas added 40 stations, bringing the total to 50. This year also saw the opening of two new stations in Italy.

OG’s vision is built on a multi clean fuels approach, covering all clean fuels including Bio CNG, Bio LNG, EV, hydrogen and HVO100. OG firmly believes that a mix of clean fuels is essential to meet climate goals and make clean mobility accessible to everyone. The company recognises that EV and hydrogen alone will not be enough to realise the ambition of clean mobility by 2040.

The existing network will continue to grow, with a focus on developing ‘Dream Stations’ that offer only clean fuels. These stations are 100 percent green. Alongside expansion in current countries, OG has ambitious plans to grow into six or seven markets, including the UK. By 2030, the goal is to operate more than 1000 locations across Europe and reach a turnover of 1 billion euros. This will position OG as the largest independent clean fuels retailer in Europe.

“We look to the future with great enthusiasm and the opportunities ahead. With determination, we will continue to innovate and expand our clean fuel network. Together, we accelerate the shift to sustainable mobility and make a positive impact on the world. The future is bright and we are ready to take the lead in the move towards cleaner and greener transport,”
