Femke Kok took 2nd place in the 500 meters today at the Daikin NK Distances in Heerenveen. The 21-year-old sprint star was slower than her rival Jutta Leerdam.
Femke Kok was faster in the second race (37.62) than the first race (37.75), but still had to settle for silver.
Jutta Leerdam became Dutch Champion on the 500 meters for the second time in her skating career. She set the fastest time in the first race with 37.58 and went even faster in the second: 37.49.
With the 2nd place Femke also secured a starting spot for the first World Cups of the season.
